What you will do
- Meet and support IEA team members and their clients by assessing clients Strengths and potential barriers, such as physical, emotional, mental or lifestyle issues that impede finding employment. Completes Strengths Passports and Well Being passports
- Assist and support people with a disability or health conditions in disadvantaged communities to address psychosocial barriers to improve health and wellbeing
- Mentor clients and staff to enable them to resolve or develop strategies to address concerns
- Provide support and counselling to clients who are seeking work and are in post placement support, focussing on leading to and obtaining open employment
- Create and provide regular reporting to ESA Manager
- Promote and maintain positive relationships with all Afford staff, Inclusive Employment Australia clients and their advocates, their respective employers, representatives of DSS, DHS and other Stakeholders
What you will bring
- Experience in working within a short term, solution-based counselling framework
- Degree level (or higher) qualification in Allied Health Services from a recognised tertiary institution
- High-level interpersonal skills, including the ability to work in a multifunctional team and to interact with a broad cross-section of people, as well as the ability to work independently
- Strong record keeping and documentation skills
- Experience working with people with a disability in an employment setting or direct support
- A passion for safeguarding human rights and a deep personal connection to working in a purpose-driven organisation.
- Hold (or be willing to obtain) a current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working with Children Check, and a ‘C’ class driver’s license, along with an up-to-date COVID vaccination certificate or a medical exemption.
- A Current First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate (willingness to Obtain if not held or expired) (check)
- Passport, Birth or Citizenship Certificate to validate Australian Work Rights
- Willingness to complete a National & International Police Check (Paid by Afford)
